What a glorious sunny midweek day we have here in the Carolinas! God is really showing off!!!

Were it not HOT, the weather would be perfect... as it is, the air conditioning is perfect thus I remain inside to enjoy writing and watching movies.

Just wondered if some of you might enjoy a coffee break with me:

talk

"Mosquitoes"

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place."
2 Corinthians 2:14

I finally killed it! There has been a mosquito buzzing around my office for two or three days now. I have taken a swat at him several times- each time I'd see him land- but always missing. Well, this morning I did not miss! He will no longer bother me or attack me.

Are there any "mosquitoes" in your life? Are there "little sins" that are always trying to destroy you, keep taunting you or keep "buzzing" around waiting for a moment when you are off guard to attack? Does victory over them seem to elude you?

What do you do about them? There are those who do nothing. They just let them go, making no attempt to remove them from their lives. They think that if they ignore them then they will go away. Some know they are there but have decided that this problem is such a small thing that they don't feel they should waste their energy on trying to get rid of it. They forget that little things can cause a lot of hurt and suck the life blood out of you. Some will make attempts to "swat" at them but when they "miss" they get discouraged and give up having decided that they will never be free or will never get victory over it. The last group are those who go after it to rid it from their lives. They are relentless in their pursuit to not allow this to stay in their lives. They don't give up until they have the victory over it.

Which group are you? Christians should be among the last group. We should not allow these things to stay in our lives. We should continually fight the good fight of faith against them, not giving up or quitting until it is destroyed. We should always expect victory over them because Christ has already gotten the victory for us. If you're not among this group then you have a bigger problem than a "small mosquito" type sin. And it will not be long before your "mosquito" size sins become something much larger. Molehills easily become mountains when you ignore them and let them go.

Have a great day. Don't allow even the smallest of sins to stay in your life- they don't just go away. amen

2Co 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
2Co 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
yay

1Jo 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

amen

It is such fun coming here to the Front Porch and sharing time with God and a few others...thanks for dropping by.

Rained in the night - stormed actually - I see a few tree limbs my crew will need to clean up this day... but all is beautifully coiffed in dew this morning as we gaze across the horizon...

Paradise Gardens (our name for our place) is so beautiful after a rain....thank you, God...

Let us enjoy the word....

The True View

....in view of Christ's appearing... be prepared in season and out of season... (from 2 Timothy 4:1-2)
__________

Often I find myself looking back at the mess I have made of things and feel totally unable to live as a Christian ought to live. It's at these times that the Holy Spirit again directs our focus to Jesus.

It is our place to make every effort to be holy. But we all stumble in many ways. (see James 3:2) Even our best efforts at being holy do not make us holy. Jesus is the One who makes us holy.

Christ in you is the hope of glory (see Col 1:27). So also we look from this vista: He's coming again to complete this salvation for all who are eagerly waiting for him. (see Heb 9:28)

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. (1Jo 3:2-3) Let's pray.

Lord, you promised that you will come at an hour when we do not expect you. But your word also says (1Thes 5:4) that day should not come as a surprise to us like a thief in the night.

How could this be except that we are walking in the light with you? Thank you for the light of your presence. By your grace continue to train me to be prepared by walking with you.

Teach me to depend on you through every circumstance. Let me look forward and set my hope on your appearing. Forgive me for failing. Thank you for your mercy and for staying with me. Amen.

Today's very great and precious promise

Jesus, who makes people holy, and all those who are made holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus isn't ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. (Heb 2:11)

We have God's Word on it. And I for one am so glad.

You must not be looking; of course there is coffee,,, always.

If God prunes it sure can hurt and be costly then hahaha. He "pruned" 3 huge trees in the past few years of hurricanes - right on top of our home!

But yes, I do love the after effects... so beautiful here...
